Solution-IV Accounting® Version 8.45 Release Notice May 9, 2002

Introduction

Solution-IV Accounting version 8.45 has extended features and functionality combined with a maintenance release to Solution-IV version 8.42, and is specifically designed to run with Thoroughbred IDOL-IV® or OPENworkshop® Environments version 8.50. OPENworkshop 8.50 and VIP™ 4.03.01 provide the Graphical User Interface.

These exciting new modules have been added or integrated into Solution-IV with the 8.45 release:

• Solution-IV Customer Relations Management (CRM) – New Module – A Web-based customer service module that enables customers to review their accounts, print statements and invoices, enter orders, get quotes and place Service Requests over the Internet. The Solution-IV CRM module requires the TS WebServer™, Hardware and some Training and Services from Thoroughbred®.
• Solution-IV Service Contract Management – New Module – A Service Contract Management system that maintains service contract, warranty, service and maintenance call information and service dispatch. When used with the Solution-IV CRM system, customers may place service requests over the Internet.
• Order Processing/Point Of Sale (POS) - Enhancement - We have added Point of Sale processing to Invoice Entry. Various payment options may be user defined. The standard options normally used are cash, check, charge (Visa, Mastercard, Amex, etc.) and on-account, but these are completely defined by you. A payment journal is automatically produced as part of the end of day Sales Journal and the payments are automatically posted to Cash Receipts, thus eliminating the need to "double enter" cash receipts.
• TimExpress™ – New Module – TimExpress is an automated time clock system that can be interfaced with Solution-IV Payroll. TimExpress can also operate independently without Solution-IV Payroll providing the necessary reports for third party payroll companies.
• JobTraK™ – New Module – JobTraK is a Job Tracking/Job Cost system that integrates into Solution-IV, or can run independently interfaced into your custom applications. TimExpress is included with JobTrak

Additional Enhancements

Several major enhancements have been included in the standard Solution-IV Modules in this release. The maintenance software changes, which are included in this release, may be found using option T - Technical Bulletin Inquiry on the Solution-IV System Utilities Menu (TAM).

• Payroll - Since the 8.42Y release in December, we have received new tax tables from Commerce Clearing House for several states. These changes were posted on the CCH Internet Research Network through April 12, 2002 as follows:
  
  EIC - Earned Income Credit - New table added (EIC-MN)
  AZ - Arizona - Percentages changed for 2002
  DC - District of Columbia - Reverted to 2001 tables
  KY - Kentucky - Standard deduction changed
  MN - Minnesota - New tables for 2002
  OK - Oklahoma - Supplemental rate changed for 2002 - Tax on wages > $22,560 changed
  WV - West Virginia - New table added (WV2) to allow for two earner option
  PR - Puerto Rico - New tables for 2002 available (but not entered)
• Static Data Copy - We have made a modification to the Copy Company option available on the Company/Password Maintenance Menu (TAC). You now have the option of copying all of the data from the "From Company" or only copying the codes (no transactions) to the new company. This will allow you to do such things as copy the Chart of Accounts to a new company but not have any transaction postings in the new company. In addition, you now have the ability to select in which directory the new company will be created.
• Solution-IV OPENworkshop Menus - We have made some modifications to the look of our OPENworkshop menus. This has been done primarily to make the product easier to run and to make the menus fall more in line with the IDOL-IV menus.
• Laser Forms Support - A powerful, yet affordable form design and business document delivery option that enables users to deliver complex business documents according to their business needs. Laser Forms Support eliminates the need for expensive pre-printed forms, their management and warehousing, as well as the hassles associated with manual form loading, separation and splitting. Instead, the Solution-IV forms can be selectively printed, faxed or e-mailed as the demand arises. A Forms library has been developed for Solution-IV, forms that are available with this system. Certain FAX and e-mail software may be required depending on the Operating System platform used.
• Technical Bulletins - All technical bulletins issued through the release date have been incorporated into this release.
